Chronic wounds produce exudate that is unpredictable in both volume and viscosity. When a dressing can't keep up, fluid can pool until it overwhelms the dressing, tracking onto intact skin and leaking through to clothing, bedding, and compression bandaging.

Mepilex® Up is the thin dressing with the patented dimpled foam design, made to handle high volumes of exudate and reduce the risk of leakage, even under compression.4 Its low profile conforms to difficult-to-dress areas and sits comfortably under compression bandaging, while the dimpled foam spreads fluid evenly in all directions, even against gravity, keeping it moving away from the wound and the surrounding skin.4-5

Protects the skin around the wound
Mepilex® Up minimizes the risk for maceration.8 The Safetac® layer does not adhere to the moist wound bed but adheres gently to dry skin, minimizing trauma to the wound bed and surrounding skin, and minimizing pain to the patient during dressing removal.9
The evidence: How Mepilex® Up performed in chronic wounds
In a clinical investigation using Mepilex® Up as part of a treatment regimen, 68 patients with moderately and largely exuding chronic wounds – 34 venous leg ulcers and 34 diabetic foot ulcers – were followed for up to 6 weeks.¹⁰
